Keep up-to-date with the new updates, improvements and bug fixes to Signals.
After two years of private and invited beta, we’re thrilled to officially launch Signals! To everyone who joined us on this journey—your support and feedback have been invaluable.
A heartfelt thank you to the individuals (you know who you are!) and companies who partnered with us during the beta phase. Coles Australia, thank you for working with us across your internal teams and helping us scale. TBWA Melbourne and Sydney, your guidance on anonymity and showing how results could span territories and cultures has been instrumental. And to the many others who believed in us—thank you!
With everything we’ve learned during beta, we’ve refined and simplified Signals to its core purpose: understanding your team with one simple question. Gone is the dust and fluff—we’re doubling down on what matters most.
At its heart, Signals is the easiest way to truly understand your team. Ask a single question like “How was your time at Acme Co this week?” at your chosen cadence, and we’ll handle the rest. Our platform delivers nuanced, meaningful insights over time—filling in the grey areas without disrupting your team’s verbatim responses or anonymity.
Moving to the 'One Question' model was an easy pivot based on our private beta feedback, 100% of our customers were already using Signals in this manner. The updated Signals model and UX reflects two years of beta iterations with Fortune 500 companies, schools, sports clubs and tech start-ups. In a nutshell;
Spin up more teams under a new Organisation, for instance, you've got an Acme Co. North and an Acme Co. South, you can add a second organisation, jump quickly to it from the top-left profile dropdown.
SMS has long been the best response rate across Signals surveys, it's quick, it uses your teams favourite channel for fast feedback. In some territories however, SMS can be problematic, or straight-up unreliable. Due to popular demand we've added WhatsApp as an option, it works in the same way SMS does.
Select WhatsApp as an option when your team signs-up, add their number and that is it. Any survey they are a part of will be made available in their WhatsApp.
Note: Admins will need to activate WhatsApp as an option under the Channels menu on the left hand side. You need a Pro account for this feature.

Our AI insights engine has been running for a few months now and improving the detail on each new training run. Within your dashboard, you can now see comments and sentiment around leadership, culture, environment, remuneration and more.
Today we’re releasing AI Topics, our own AI insights engine. The aim is to give insights into trends over time around leadership, culture, environment, remuneration and more, allowing you to see the impact of management decisions on key employee retention factors.
In the vast landscape of artificial intelligence, one factor reigns supreme: power. But with power comes unpredictability, leaving us on an ever-evolving quest for control and accuracy. As we embark on this captivating journey, we invite you to join us in exploring the nuances of AI and its potential to shape our world. If the results fall short of your expectations, highlight any discrepancies, we're enhancing the feature for greater accuracy with every iteration.
AI Topics forms a part of our continuous AI team experiments, delving into how artificial intelligence can elevate Signals' effectiveness. Stay tuned for exciting updates in the months ahead.

Your members can now add hashtags and staff names to expand the context of a comment even further — e.g. a team member wants to put emphasis on just how bad the beans are getting, drop in "#coffee", or use it to associate an issue or suggestion to a department or location "#sydney".
Our inline algorithms now detect specific words, phrases, and calls-to-action to assess the importance of comments, all while preserving the original context and verbatim of member conversations. Signals automatically prioritizes certain comments within the hierarchy based on these indicators. This behavior can be customized in your settings.
Upcoming enhancements
We had an original plan to create a system where you could do three things:
We're now three (maybe four?) months later and this is already a lot, lot bigger than that. We've been working hard to address each different feature, enhancement and request that we've had as we have worked with users all over the world to understand the service and its value.
Over the last month, Signals has had its first live clients in the system. Organisations based in Los Angeles, Australia and Singapore with users across dozens of countries. We learnt a lot. Not least that we needed to refocus the scope of the product to fully deliver for our core audience first, then to branch beyond it.

Fixes
The locked Alpha point (preview release) for friends, colleagues and invitees is here, we're rolling it out with a handful of fixes, updates, dusting all the corners and dotting our lowercase j's. From there it's on our generous team of friends and clients to take a swing at the service. We've all been working hard to get to this point, and can't believe it's all come together in only eight weeks. 👏👏
Dark/Light modes added as part of Theme capabilities under account > preferences. We're working on some more themes, classic and new (think SPF for outdoor workings)
